Speech by our CEO Dr.C.Mathiazhagan as a Chief
Guest in a Function at TVS School, Madurai
1, July, 2011
TVS Higher Secondary School,
Jaihindpuram, Madurai.
Our CEO Dr. C. Mathiazhagan, an Alumni of this School during 1980, was invited as
one of the Chief guest to honor and distribute the prize to the students.
His speech:
Respected Principal, Correspondent, Board members, teachers, parents, other staff
members and dear students,
I would like to convey my hearty greetings to everyone assembled here. I am proud
to introduce myself as the alumni of this school, during the year 1980.
We all are aware of the intention of our arrival here, which is to honor the successful
children. Before I step forward to honor the eminent role of the children in the
community, I would like to clarify the tangible meaning of success.
People usually consider success to be an art which only a few know, something a
matter of chance or something for those who possess good luck. Such beliefs can
be proved unsatisfactory because success is a transparent tool which is visible
to all.
A fact can be outlined that persons who are concerned to perceive it achieve their
goal and those who have disbelief in it land themselves up in a steep gorge. Children
should have allegiance to their duties so that they can have a chance to dwell in
the mansion of success.
"Sow an act and you reap a Habit
Sow a habit and you reap a character
Sow a character and you reap a destiny"
Success begins its tedious journey from a spiritual place known as a school.
A school plays an important role in determining the destiny of each and every child,
guiding them through each step of the way. A desk is a finer place to sit and write.
It is a catalyst that activates your will to find the experiences that are hidden
in the corners of your grey cells. May be this is why Shakespeare said "A word – it owns the world".
"An Architect knows if he builds with care, his structure may stand for centuries.
A teacher knows if he /she builds with love and truth, what he/ she builds will
last for ever."
These words were told by a German Philosopher which we definitely have to believe
in the case of TVS School.
If you tell me; I will forget
If you show me; I may not remember
If you involve me; I will understand
These lines come to life in the workshop where both teachers and children get a
chance to learn. Children are the living message that we send to a time in future
to effect great changes that will reshape the world.
The responsibility of an educational institution is thus of paramount importance
in enabling every child to line with great vision, finer sprit of hope and achievement,
and to enrich the world.
"Time is not measured by the passing of years but by what one does, what one feels
and what one achieves", so Children please try to achieve the best in what ever
field you choose.
My best wishes to one and all on this occasion. Congratulations to the winners and
the opportunities are awaiting for the rest to touch the winning post. Thank you
and God bless us all.
